If you're familiar with the "dark romance" genre (I wish I wasn't), I would consider this almost medium dark romance. Can Tess just focus on keeping her and her daughter alive before shacking up with next man? But Gardner ruined a promising plot with a weird smutty love story between Tess and JT that no one, and I mean NO ONE, asked for. ![]() You've got all the ingredients: "my husband is a serial killer and I didn't even know it", interviews with the serial killer husband and his pov, criminal psychologist profiler, etc. This book had so much potential to be a true banger. She's pulled this kinda move on me a couple of times, most significantly in Love You More. In classic Gardner fashion, we have GREAT writing and a strong plot, but at some point, Gardner starts colouring outside the lines and shit goes south for there. I feel personally victimized by how WEST this book went. WHY DO YOU KEEP TROLLING ME LIKE THIS? Yes, I was 5 when this book was published, BUT STILL.
